Type of Action: Item Action (to use it, select a layer item and go to Item>Actions to choose the Action from the list).

What the Action can do: This Action lets you do the following:
  • It lets you start or stop an audio file playing when an item is moused over or clicked.
To use the Action, draw a layer item on your page (either HTML or graphic) and then, with the item selected, go to Item>Actions and choose Sound FX from the list. With the item selected you can see the options in the Actions palette.



  • Function: Click and hold on this popup to choose from Play or Stop With these two options you can set one Sound FX Action to one item (with Play applied to make the audio start working) and another to a different item (with Stop applied to make the audio stop) to get a start and stop button on the same page.
  • Audio File: Click and hold on this popup, choose Select…, navigate to the audio file you wish to use for the effect and click Open.
  • Trigger On: Choose whether the effect is triggered on mouseover or click.
