Raw code never looked so good

As easy as Freeway Pro makes it to create rich, feature-filled Web sites without worrying about the code, it can also be used for serious database-driven dynamic publishing with lots of code. No matter what programming language you are using on your application server, you can use Freeway to create your templates and manage the entire project.

It’s in there

markup screen shotFreeway provides simple, repeatable ways to integrate hand-written or Action-generated code into your page designs. The beauty of this approach is that your layout can change very late in the design process without disrupting the application logic. In many cases, a designer can be rearranging the pages without knowing or caring about the back-end code. And everything still works when the design is complete. Even if the client has “just one more tiny change.”

Best Practices

Freeway enforces a good separation of design and logic, even while it allows you to finesse your page layout to an extraordinary degree. Once you have added code to an object on the page, like a form element or a dynamic photo, moving that object—or cutting and pasting it to another page—does not disturb the underlying code. And once you have programmed a feature, you can reuse it on another site, even one that has a completely different look and feel.

Visual Code

Write Once, Use Everywhere

If you use the same library code in every site you build, chances are either there’s already an Action written to automate that task, or it’s a good candidate for one. Compiling your code into Actions makes it simple to avoid mistakes and leaves you more time to focus on your application design.

The MySQL Connect Action automates the process of connecting to your database server—and also streamlines migration from your test server to the final production host.

PHP Actions

Automate the process of building page templates in Freeway with PHP. These Actions cover everything from dynamic images to creating looping tables that display multi-row database query results.
