Intaglio Buttons & Tutorials

Intaglio is an excellent app to help you create buttons, tabs, icons and other navigational aids for your site. On this page, we are offering some graphics as well as a couple of quick tutorials to show you how easy it is to make your own.

Because Intaglio can output your images as PDFs, they can be scaled with little or no loss in image quality.

Tutorials

We have put together a couple of simple tutorials to show you how easy it is to make buttons and icons similar to those in the Sampler. The secret, as they say, is in the blend. Some well placed gradient fills, a touch of blurring and a few cut out shapes is all it takes. Intaglio makes this really easy to do, and as you can export your final image as a PDF, you don’t have to worry about scaling it in Freeway and losing detail or resolution.

Download The Sampler

To kick you off, we are offering an Intaglio file with a number of buttons, tabs and other examples. Download the file, and load it into Intaglio. Select the item you wish to use, and use the Save Selected Item As… option in the File menu. Save the item as a PDF and import it into Freeway.

Feel free to edit the buttons and icons - changing attributes like colours is fairly straightfoward. The turorials on this page should give you a leg up to the techniques used in creating these objects.
