Working with SVGs (Scalable Vector Graphics)

Freeway 5.1 and above now support SVGs. SVG files can be imported as graphic content that will be output in GIF, JPEG, or PNG format (similar to EPS or Illustrator files). SVG files can also be imported as pass-through graphics that will be output as SVG files that can scale nicely as the browser window changes in size (supported browsers only). SVG allows you to create images which can scale without losing detail or resolution. They can also save bandwidth as typically they are text files with none (or few) references to bitmap images.

SVG content is imported like any other graphic content in Freeway:

1. Sketch a graphic item.
2. Choose Import from the File menu and select the SVG file, or drag the SVG content into the graphic item.

To import SVG content as pass-through content:

1. Sketch an HTML item.
2. Choose Import from the File menu and select the SVG file in the file dialog, making sure that the pass-through checkbox is selected.

Note: Freeway’s support of SVG requires you to have installed Safari 3.1.1 or later
