Site Maps

In web design, site maps were used as a way to display all the pages on a site in a human readable format. These were typically used on large sites that were difficult to navigate around so, if you knew what you wanted, looking at a list of all the pages in the site and finding it was the easiest thing to do.

To automate this process we generated a Site Map Action which is bundled with Freeway. It simply takes the names of your folders and pages and creates an expandable tree structure of them. This Action, and site maps in general should not be confused with Google Sitemaps.

These days, good site navigation is now a lot easier to create and along with good design practices site maps aren't generally used or needed.
