Sequence Click Information

This action is great for creating slide shows, like the one shown above.

1. Prepare the images for your slide show. You will need to convert them into GIF/JPEG images before using them. Ideally, they should be the same size otherwise they will be scaled by the browser when they're displayed. If your images are in a different format, you can convert the images within Freeway - on a blank page, import the image into a graphic item and then choose 'Export' from the File menu to export as a GIF/JPEG image.

2. Draw a graphic item on the page which will contain your slide show. You can import an initial image into the item, if you want an image to show prior to the slide show starting, or you can leave it empty.

3. Apply the 'Slave Image' Action to the graphic item from the Item > Action menu

4. Open the Action Palette and click the Image 1 popup menu and choose select. Browse to the location of one of the images that will appear in the sequence. Repeat for Image 2... and so on.

5. Draw a couple more graphic items on your page. these will form your 'forward' and 'backward' buttons which will cycle through the images.

6. Apply the "Sequence Click" Action to each of these buttons from the Item > Action Menu.

7. A few parameters need setting for the Sequence Click action in the Action Palette:

Direction - Whether you want that particular button to roll the slide show forwards, backwards or to the start or end of the sequence

Wrap - Choose yes if you want the images to cycle through the sequence once the last image has been displayed (and vice versa)

Chain Name - You probably don't need to change this, but if you have two different slide shows on your page you could set each one to have a different 'Chain Name' to prevent them from conflicting.

Trigger 1...20 - These relate to the Images selected in the Slave Image Action. e.g. If you have set up (slave) images 1-4 the change the popups of Triggers 1-6 to 'Yes' and leave the others set to No.

Now preview the page and you have a Slide Show!

Sequence Click Button
If you prefer, you can also use form buttons to control the slide show by selecting the "Sequence Click Button' Action from the Insert > Action menu. The options on the button are set up in the same way - except you have an additional text field where you can set up the text you want to appear on the button.
