Scroll Layer Information

This suite of actions allows you to have a layer with scrolling content within. It uses three actions: Scroll Layer, Scroll Content and Scroll Button

This effect is achieved with layers and three Actions. You will need to set your page HTML version to HTML 4.0 in the Page Inspector Palette.

Scroll Layer

This action is applied to the layer in that you want the scrollable content to appear in. This can be any layer item except for layers that have plug-in content. The content of the layer that you choose will appear as a 'background' to the scrolling content.

The Scroll Layer action has just two parameters

  • Speed - The interval between repeated scrolls.
  • Visible - If the layer visible or should it become visible once the page has loaded.

Scroll Content

This action is applied to the layer that contains the scrolling content

This action has a single parameter that allows you to choose the Scroll layer that it is the content for. If you have just one Scroll Layer on the page this parameter is not important

However if you have more than one, this popup will list all the layers has the Scroll Layer action Scroll Layer applied you can use it popup to select the one that you wish to use this content.

NOTE: If you change the name of the layer that has the Scroll Layer applied to it then you will have to reselect it in the popup.

On output this layer will become the content of the Scroll Layer and will not be visible in it's original position.

Scroll Button

This item should be applied to a graphic item or a map-area. It will make that item scroll the content of the Scroll Layer.

The action has four sets of parameters - for each of the events that can occur. You can then decide what the action should do for these events. The choice you have for these events is made through the popup "scroll". You can choose whether to start scrolling up, down or to stop the scrolling.
