Password Protected URL Information

Enter the password 'secretpage' then click Submit.

This action allows you to have a page or folder on your web site that can only be accessed through entering a password.

Apply the action from the Insert > Action menu. It can be either free-standing on the page or pasted as an inline item.

How it works is that when the submit button on the password form is pressed it adds the .html extension on the end of the password and directs them to a page of the same name. If, for example, you want the password to be 'topsecret' then in your site, create a new page with that name i.e. topsecret.html.

This can also be used with folders. If you have a folder called 'secret' enter this name in to the password field, then submit. We would recommend that you name the main page in the folder 'index.html', otherwise you may find an Access Denied message or a Directory listing in it's place.

Link Type - Whether the link will be to a folder or an HTML page

Button Label - The text that will appear on the submit button

Field Length - The character length of the password field (not featured in v1.0 of this action)

Please note this is not a secure password script as the page URL can be manually entered or accessed through the browser history.
